We acquired a patent for a Demand Response (hereinafter “DR”) based integrated operating system that supports the operation of efficient portfolio models with distributed energy resources (hereinafter “DER”) on October 7.
Scheme of the DER operating system
DR-based DER portfolio management image
With this patent, efficient DER management is achieved through the construction of DERs portfolio for participation in the DR programs by controlling/operating DERs, such as charge and discharge of Energy Storage System (hereinafter “ESS”) batteries to the grid, when the load reaches a certain level of peak power. The system also supports the efficient operation of the DR according to each stage of the grid load status and business strategy, and allows automatic DR setting in preparation for the peak in the grid.
Although power usage and usage patterns may vary depending on the current factory facilities and their installation locations or the ESS operator, the existing demand management systems face limitations in efficiently responding for the DR since they are used to store and discharge the ESS only when the predicted power usage is exceeded.Based on real-time load data through load forecasting, peak level modeling, and real-time DER monitoring, this patent is not only addressing the above issues, but is also designed for efficient, portfolio-based operation of power resources, and provides customized portfolios for DR management, and efficient operation management in the power transaction market.
